India suitable with Indigenous Model to Predict Rainfalls : IITM

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> India is finally ready with an indigenous model to predict long range and seasonal rainfall. In the next six months, the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, will be able to operationalise a dynamic numerical climate model it has developed to forecast extended-range rainfall for a timescale of 15-20 days after results from the experimental stage were found to be reliable.<br /> <br /></div> <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> <b><i>"For the first time, we have indigenously developed a prediction system that was not available in India. The tests have been done, the performance of the experimental model was found to be good and can be </i></b><b><i>operationalised</i></b><b><i>. We can now forecast rain every five days for 15-20 days especially for the agriculture sector which is the mainstay of the economy,"</i></b> M Rajeevan, director, IITM told HT.<br /> <br /></div> <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> India Meteorological Department (IMD), the official agency to disseminate weather forecast, will, however, validate the operationalisation of the model. At present, the IMD uses statistical model that needs lengthy calculations to make predictions of the southwest monsoon.<br /> <br /></div> <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> Scientists at IITM tasked with improving long range and seasonal scale forecasts (16 days to a season) have localised the indigenous model factoring Indian climatic conditions using the Climate Forecast System (CFS) developed in the US.<br /> <br /></div> <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> Developing the CFS-based Grand Ensemble Prediction System (CGEPS) is part of the National Monsoon Mission that was launched by the government in 2012 to improve accuracy of monsoon prediction especially since 60% agriculture in India is rain-fed.</div> <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> Under the joint India-US collaboration, scientists used the National Centers for Environmental Predictions-Climate Forecast System (NCEP-CFSv2) model for monsoon prediction.<br /> <br /></div> <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> As part of the experimental version of the indigenous model, IITM has been providing forecasts for the agriculture sector to the IMD that issues advisories to the farmers over the last three years.</div> <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> <b><i>"The skillful and timely forecasts of intra-seasonal monsoon rainfall possess a greater potential utility for agriculture and water resource management. In the extended range, especially beyond the weather scale (two–three weeks), a single deterministic rainfall forecast is not sufficient thus the user community should also be given probabilistic forecasts that quantify the uncertainty,"</i></b> said Atul Kumar Sahai, project director, National Monsoon Mission.<br /> <br /></div> <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> Sahai added<b><i>, "The thumb rule is that before moving from an experimental version of any forecasting system towards operational version, its skill should be evaluated in detail."</i></b><br /> <b><i><br /></i></b></div> <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> Suryachandra Rao, senior scientist at IITM, said after the monsoon mission, the model in the next phase will incorporate hydrological forecasting that will help in decisions relating to management of dam water - how much water can be released or whether the water can be used to generate hydropower.<br /> <br /></div> <div dir="ltr"> <b>Source</b><b>: </b><b>hindustantimes</b></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2aFJonGpqFf-wD4q_MjA8wLpxljswOy1kxUNbpTgCsKPAfbzfJ36yj8KbyWeNqPP6lYsu_ieN-cNZKtKmDtr7NE7MSdt6R6IPaLFKYuUg_58Iy6z5ZwWUssrT0Ucf3J-zRo0kQrzGh4NL/s1600/TUN1qgPViO_VmKfaLjsYtNZfnFNr7S0Umju6y5PRiItgO9xwDLG01yc2KjyJmwnPcq8Ejl8Y3OW6lZ2y82LePhpBa5eJw4S5e56mGSi7fems_SfanUFTwbR0MaAETqzP5fee7eObXCom272VWoG-2Zz1F4t3xA%25253Dw510-h288-nc.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2aFJonGpqFf-wD4q_MjA8wLpxljswOy1kxUNbpTgCsKPAfbzfJ36yj8KbyWeNqPP6lYsu_ieN-cNZKtKmDtr7NE7MSdt6R6IPaLFKYuUg_58Iy6z5ZwWUssrT0Ucf3J-zRo0kQrzGh4NL/s640/TUN1qgPViO_VmKfaLjsYtNZfnFNr7S0Umju6y5PRiItgO9xwDLG01yc2KjyJmwnPcq8Ejl8Y3OW6lZ2y82LePhpBa5eJw4S5e56mGSi7fems_SfanUFTwbR0MaAETqzP5fee7eObXCom272VWoG-2Zz1F4t3xA%25253Dw510-h288-nc.jpeg" /> </a> </div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9hxh69X-9fHZ9BdwbP7zJMXGqVZpWQaN805I1qQCgIPtaM5LrvmfQl1gBrJvZO5dOZaheVmy6IbEn1t-3CbM7rKVOPRi-Z8Hi0Jevt3Rc6LyQ-cVLfqixHpxJE93aRzNSfGSe-V7V6sQS/s1600/o17j4QYIW5kaIrb8R7vy2moLv8QlFOZmm_0fO6xqNUksll-_0FNIftgzOJuREYXVOpbsa9okzvy9tKHmWsQHdl9t2E9AbsVCDOlPfmrFWBA_SU8MG_9PC2GYj_seipCferMc8iuPCR7LLg%25253Dw410-h308-nc.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9hxh69X-9fHZ9BdwbP7zJMXGqVZpWQaN805I1qQCgIPtaM5LrvmfQl1gBrJvZO5dOZaheVmy6IbEn1t-3CbM7rKVOPRi-Z8Hi0Jevt3Rc6LyQ-cVLfqixHpxJE93aRzNSfGSe-V7V6sQS/s640/o17j4QYIW5kaIrb8R7vy2moLv8QlFOZmm_0fO6xqNUksll-_0FNIftgzOJuREYXVOpbsa9okzvy9tKHmWsQHdl9t2E9AbsVCDOlPfmrFWBA_SU8MG_9PC2GYj_seipCferMc8iuPCR7LLg%25253Dw410-h308-nc.jpeg" /> </a> </div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7Wft_NcijJX9CftGyv5JvBt74R2DTN11mpfOh-n6JVURpm9u6ksawQ51Jut72SBVXqcUa7F1-cpAPcnnAr50JDiiTa_eb1ubth8GkR_3f9KXYOGi8T2HzFfUss6e84gkoYxwA3koJ3b-1/s1600/W1I3xdhmWmypwxVJTcihlfe61ZNdTWHN_2nEblSK3iML2XIuRbgTVQ24auYJUzcw5NjZ_5FHTHo6yDUtH2rPTMXKVIoL-XjqCOpsfJLf4cyimVQC4JdU63tXpPzkwkBhbEJx7lN3fJJ2xy8iUulO--Bvi6a-h32hNfCd9a3kVBVR6ZiVpKdNCOPm092Pul551XgH5Pr2ngeqqnOwyNbM%25253Dw361-h408-nc.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7Wft_NcijJX9CftGyv5JvBt74R2DTN11mpfOh-n6JVURpm9u6ksawQ51Jut72SBVXqcUa7F1-cpAPcnnAr50JDiiTa_eb1ubth8GkR_3f9KXYOGi8T2HzFfUss6e84gkoYxwA3koJ3b-1/s640/W1I3xdhmWmypwxVJTcihlfe61ZNdTWHN_2nEblSK3iML2XIuRbgTVQ24auYJUzcw5NjZ_5FHTHo6yDUtH2rPTMXKVIoL-XjqCOpsfJLf4cyimVQC4JdU63tXpPzkwkBhbEJx7lN3fJJ2xy8iUulO--Bvi6a-h32hNfCd9a3kVBVR6ZiVpKdNCOPm092Pul551XgH5Pr2ngeqqnOwyNbM%25253Dw361-h408-nc.png" /> </a> </div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4Pcdhkwx05UF4rc8H9tW75R7JOn95jXwa2ug4G7V4_btk4kcU8gLxZUpjVVTc56x12KPlspGTT19UzorYMYR9Y6FvUdYAvT6tMLSjfti4DVQ_ByYjEL6GARudkMw5tRAbUmoyuuVu2h_g/s1600/Rainfall%25252BWallpaper%25252B49.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4Pcdhkwx05UF4rc8H9tW75R7JOn95jXwa2ug4G7V4_btk4kcU8gLxZUpjVVTc56x12KPlspGTT19UzorYMYR9Y6FvUdYAvT6tMLSjfti4DVQ_ByYjEL6GARudkMw5tRAbUmoyuuVu2h_g/s640/Rainfall%25252BWallpaper%25252B49.jpg" /> </a> </div> </div>

Movie Reviews: Phantom an Average Film !

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="http://images.indianexpress.com/2015/08/saif-katrina-phantom-movie1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="354" src="http://images.indianexpress.com/2015/08/saif-katrina-phantom-movie1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <br /></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <br /></div> In sharp compare to his sentimental, comedian, humanity-above-religions-and-borders Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the box-office blaster starring Salman Khan that released just over the month ago, Phantom is a vigilante and jingoistic film with a bump-‘em-off message. Will the real Kabir Khan fully stand up?<br /> <br /> <br /> <a href="http://survi.in/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Weekend-Movie-Review-Survi-First-On-net-Pavan+Survi.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="391" src="http://survi.in/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Weekend-Movie-Review-Survi-First-On-net-Pavan+Survi.png" width="640" /></a><br /> Phantom is adapted coming from Hussain Zaidi’s book Mumbai Avengers. India’s Study and Analysis Wing (RAW) selects a disgraced ex-Indian Internet marketer officer Daniyal Khan (Saif Ali Khan), who has "disappeared" and grabs an opportunity to redeem himself by eliminating the masterminds in the 26/11 Mumbai bombings of 2008, in which 166 were being killed. Otherwise, it seems they are unlikely to find the justice they deserve.<br /> <br /> Simply because when India is bombarded, says a RAW realtor, "We only banned playing Cricket. " So RAW has got the Mumbai attack masterminds, as well as Sajid Mir, David Headley and "Haaris" Saeed eliminated 1 by 1, on different continents — by way of single man, Daniyal Khan. At the least Bollywood’s wish fulfilling fantasies might be relied on to supply justice, albeit via an extremely wishy-washy operative.<br /> <br /> Although the story is easy, the screenplay by Kabir Khan as well as Parveez Sheikh is fidgety being a water beetle, and sometimes makes it hard to monitor multiple, barely etched personas, as the action continues hurtling between London, Chi town, Beirut, Lahore and Mumbai. Done actors Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as well as Rajesh Tailang are lost in small roles.<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="http://hdmoviespoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Phantom-movie-300MB-download.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://hdmoviespoint.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Phantom-movie-300MB-download.jpg" width="640" /></a></div> <br /> <br /> The pace covers in the second half, when Daniyal closes with on his quarry with Pakistan, and RAW as well as ISI play spy versus spy via him. The relentless pace additionally keeps you from asking way too many questions, such as the reason why Daniyal so easily disgraced for being brave, instead of currently being given a medal? Why he sails into Pakistan, already knowing everybody he would need to know? Why make your heroine any Parsi woman in London merely to call her Nawaz (Katrina Kaif?<br /> <br /> Saif Ali Khan basically plays Phantom, the disguised avenger. In that, he’s donning a single-expression mask all through. Kaif kicked far far more butt in Ek Tha Wagering action. Here, her "security consultant" role is at effect a Barbie hanger-on, relieved she can speak Hindi with a foreign accent. As Amina Bi, the caretaker of a Pakistani committing suicide bomber, Sohaila Kapur shines inside a much smaller, but far more daring and memorable role. For a film as their sole agenda is vigilante the legal, the script doesn’t perform the film a favour by producing both the good guys – Daniyal from Asia and Amina Bi from Pakistan — plus the terrorist masterminds the similar fate.<br /> <br /> Again, given that this chemistry between the leads is ekdum thanda, the actual Titanic-style climax renders any poignant moment rather risible. Ek Tha Tiger was so much more fun and cool, with Indian and Pakistani agents who appreciate that love is better than war, and decide to fall off the map.<br /> <br /> Remarkably, and for you to Kabir Khan’s credit, definitely not once does he produce terrorism a religious matter. In fact, he underlines how groups of both perpetrators and sufferers, suffer on both sides in the border — and join forces against terrorism. In an enjoyable, populist post-script, Kabir Khan possesses Nawaz, whose dad helpful to treat her to tea and pastries in the Taj Mahal Hotel, possess a chai along the sea wall beyond your hotel.<br /> <br /> The film possesses stray moments of humour, often taking swipes at social networking: the RAW bosses pick ‘Phantom’ as he's got no Facebook page; someone complains that Haaris Saeed carries a $10million bounty on his head, yet he roams free and is also on Twitter!</div>
